Paso del Istmo corridor design is being updated to reflect current forest areas and linkages between these areas, as well as areas where local people or landowners are interested in participating in the corridor.
In the near future, Paso Pacífico will also begin to implement the Paso de la Sierra, an important in the Masaya, Granada, Managua and Carazo provinces. This corridor includes endangered tropical dry forests and transitional forests. The Sierra in Paso de la Sierra produce drinking water for nearly half of Nicaragua’s population.
